PC mods: match the loader to the mod.
Valor Mortis mods use different installation paths. For Vortex, use the game extension and keep staging on the same drive as the game. UE4SS script mods need the loader first; follow the individual mod’s folder layout rather than dropping every download into one directory.[1][2]
Vortex: check the extension before deployment
- Open ChemBoy1’s Valor Mortis extension ↗ (opens in a new tab) and read the current requirements. Its 1.0.3 changelog, dated 14 October, corrects the Steam root folder name to ValorMortis.
- Keep the mod staging folder on the game’s drive. The author says this game does not support symlinks.
- The extension lists Steam and Xbox/Game Pass versions; this concerns PC installation paths, not installing mods on an Xbox console. If your store version is not detected, verify the actual installation location.[1]
UE4SS: install the dependency, then the script
The game-specific UE4SS package ↗ (opens in a new tab) instructs users to place its archive contents in ValorMortis/Binaries/Win64. It redistributes the original project with a game signature; it is not the game developer’s tool.[2]
For BryanHudson’s Cheat Menu 1.0.0 ↗ (opens in a new tab), the author requires UE4SS, then this file layout:

ValorCheatMenu/Scripts/main.luaLoad a save and press F6, or use the author’s console command. Those instructions are author-listed; we have not verified the menu in-game.[3]
When the mod does not load

Back up your save before changing gameplay behavior. Install one mod at a time so a failed launch can be traced to a specific change. We do not certify downloads or claim they cannot affect achievements or saves.
